About Natalie
Natalie Briney is a Western Australian artist living and working on her family’s farm south of Margaret River. From her studio surrounded by bushland and open skies, she creates contemplative figurative works that explore stillness, transition, and quiet inner strength.
Her practice centres on the female form — not as portraiture in the traditional sense, but as a vessel for emotional presence and reflection. Natalie’s figures often appear serene and introspective, existing within an in-between space beyond a specific time or place.
Working in mixed media, each painting begins with a foundation of vintage music sheet paper embedded into the surface, followed by layers of acrylic paint and intricate pointillism, and finished in oil. This layered process allows rhythm, texture, and softness to emerge gradually, mirroring the emotional depth of the work itself.
Natalie’s work is guided by themes of resilience, femininity, and becoming. Through muted, ethereal palettes and subtle gold elements, her paintings invite the viewer to slow down, breathe, and connect with the quiet strength found within moments of pause.
Her works are held in private collections across Australia, the United States, Europe, and Asia, with notable collectors including Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo.
