Quiet strength. Stillness. Becoming.

Paintings for the space between what has been and what is becoming

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Meet Natalie Briney

Natalie Briney is a Western Australian artist living and working on her family’s farm south of Margaret River. From her studio, she creates contemporary figurative paintings that explore the quiet inner landscapes of women.

Her work blends a restrained, modern sensibility with intricate pointillist detail, often beginning with a base layer of vintage music sheet paper. These underlying scores become a subtle foundation within each piece, adding depth, rhythm, and a quiet sense of narrative.

Through softened forms and contemplative figures, Natalie’s paintings reflect themes of stillness, resilience, and feminine presence. Each work seeks to capture a moment of pause, where strength is held gently, and emotion is expressed through quiet, considered detail.

"For Natalie, each figure emerges through a quiet unfolding, the curve of a shoulder, the hush of closed eyes, held within layered surfaces rich with texture and depth. Gold elements appear as subtle markers of the sacred, suggesting moments of illumination, protection, and inner knowing. These works reflect a gentle strength, where softness and resilience exist together, and presence is felt in stillness"
