Sunset over Sugarloaf Rock
Painted for the Margaret River Open Studios
Acrylic on Canvas Panel
20.5 cm (W) x 25.5 cm (H)
This heavily textured Abstract painting, plays on a thick textured base and has over layers of acrylic paint, moulding and crackle paste, with shades of reds, orange, yellow and gold. The inspiration behind this piece, are the beautiful colours of a sunset on a warm summers day over one of our local landmarks.
Please note this is painted on a flat canvas panel and is unframed. However, if you are wanting to hang this painting on a wall, I have added a frame in the 'mock up' styled photo's, so that you know what it will look like framed.
This body of work has been inspired by the beautiful bushland I walk through each day on the lands of the traditional Wadandi and Pibelman with my dog Mia. My home farm backs on to the Blackwood River and as far as the eye can see, I am surrounded by an ever-changing vista of Australian native fauna and flora and I cannot help but be inspired by the colours I see, the sounds I hear, the feelings of peace, timelessness, wonderment and the realisation that I am never alone.
This original painting will NEVER be sold as a print, so you can enjoy the benefits of knowing that is a one off piece, especially for your home.
