Painted for my 7th Solo Exhibition at Red Gallery in March 2023, this new abstract floral series titled 'Oshibana' is inspired by the ancient Japanese art form of drying and pressing flowers.  With this new body of work, I wanted to capture the feeling and textures of a dried and flattened Pansy flower. This heavily textured Abstract Floral Painting plays on a thick textured canvas base and has layers of moulding and crackle paste to add texture and depth. Shades of a fluorescent pink in the middle and with a darker magenta/pink for the outer edge of the petal, this piece really does pop! The background is a bronze/gold colour and full of texture and small cracks.

Signed and dated on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authentication.

This piece is created on a 40mm frame-wrapped canvas, sealed with fixative and a triple gloss coat, gallery-finished edges, ready to hang.
