Natalie Briney Artist

'Red Velvet Sun' Abstract Mini Sunflower

2023

Acrylic on Wood Panel

Unframed, sides are gallery-finished and comes ready to hang

41 cms (W) x 41 cm (H) x 2cm (D)

This new abstract floral series titled 'Oshibana' is inspired by the ancient Japanese art form of drying and pressing flowers.  With this new body of work, I wanted to capture the feeling and textures of a dried and flattened Sunflower.

This heavily textured Abstract Sunflower Painting plays on a thick textured wood panel base and has layers of moulding and crackle paste to add texture and depth. Shades of red and brown are in the centre of the flower, while the outer petals are a fluorescent red colour,  with flecks of copper, a dark warm red, as well as my usual expressive marks made with drips of black, fluorescent pink and white paint. The background is black which really makes this piece really pop!

This original painting will NEVER be reproduced in any other format (eg print or NFT), so you can enjoy the benefits of knowing that this is a one-of-a-kind, made especially for your home.

Signed and dated on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authentication.

This piece is created on a 35mm frame-wrapped wood panel, sealed with fixative and a triple gloss coat, gallery-finished edges, ready to hang.

Before Purchasing this piece, I highly recommend you read the Shipping and Returns Page HERE
