'Pink Panola' Abstract Mini Pansy Flower

This new abstract floral series titled 'Oshibana' is inspired by the ancient Japanese art form of drying and pressing flowers.  With this new body of work, I wanted to capture the feeling and textures of a dried and flattened Pansy flower.

This heavily textured Abstract Pansy Flower Painting plays on a thick textured wood panel base and has layers of moulding and crackle paste to add texture and depth. Shades of bright purple, black and white are in the centre of the flower, while the inner petals have a light purple/pink colour, while the outer petals are a darker purple/pink colour with splashes of antique gold, as well as my usual expressive marks made with oil pastel, posca pen markers and drips of black and white paint. The background is a light copper which really makes this piece really pop!

Signed and dated on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authentication.

This piece is created on a 35mm frame-wrapped wood panel, sealed with fixative and a triple gloss coat, gallery-finished edges, ready to hang.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Natalie is a Western Australian Artist who lives and works South of Margaret River on her family's farm.

Her love of the colours of the bushland she is surrounded by, country living and the native fauna and flora inspire her works today.
