'Orange Windflower' Anemone Abstract Flower
2023
From My Solo Exhibition 'Morosa'
Acrylic on Canvas
Unframed, sides are gallery-finished and comes ready to hang
92 (W) x 102 cm (H) x 4cm (D)
Painted for my 8th Solo Exhibition at Gallery One 88 in April 2023, this new abstract floral series titled 'Oshibana' is inspired by the ancient Japanese art form of drying and pressing flowers. With this new body of work, I wanted to capture the feeling and textures of a dried and flattened Anemone flower.
This heavily textured Abstract Floral Painting plays on a thick textured canvas base and has layers of moulding and crackle paste to add texture and depth. Inspired by the Anemone flower 'Orange Windflower' I have used shades of darker orange on the inner petals and shades of a lighter orange on the outer petal with flecks of blue, red and orange all over the petals and a pop of orange in the centre of the flower. The background is a micaceous iron oxide (slate grey) shade, which really makes this piece pop!
This original painting will NEVER be reproduced in any other format (eg print or NFT), so you can enjoy the benefits of knowing that this is a one-of-a-kind, made especially for your home.
Signed and dated on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authentication.
This piece is created on a 40mm frame-wrapped canvas, sealed with fixative and a triple gloss coat, gallery-finished edges, ready to hang.
