'Matrix Solar Flare' Abstract Pansy

This new abstract floral series titled 'Oshibana' is inspired by the ancient Japanese art form of drying and pressing flowers.  With this new body of work, I wanted to capture the feeling and textures of a dried and flattened Pansy flower.

This heavily textured Abstract Pansy Flower Painting plays on a thick textured canvas base and has layers of moulding and crackle paste to add texture and depth. Shades of fluorescent orange and black are in the centre of the flower, while the inner petals have a darker red, the outer petals are a lighter red/orange, with touches of dark red pastel pencil on the edges of some of the cracking, as well as my usual expressive marks made with oil pastel, posca pen markers and drips of black and white paint. The background is a deep green colour which really makes this piece really pop!

Signed and dated on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authentication.

This piece is created on a 40mm frame-wrapped canvas, sealed with fixative and a triple gloss coat, gallery-finished edges, ready to hang.

Natalie is a Western Australian Artist who lives and works South of Margaret River on her family's farm.

Her love of the colours of the bushland she is surrounded by, country living and the native fauna and flora inspire her works today.
