This heavily textured Abstract painting, plays on a thick textured base with over layers of acrylic paint and moulding and crackle paste to create layers of depth and colour.
Painted for the 'The Citron Pressé Collection at The Other Art Fair' in November 2022, this piece unfortunately was not chosen as one of the 5 finalists. However, what I loved about this challenge, was that I wanted to focus solely on the 'lemon' but with my own textured twist to it. I love the taste of lemon, in fact I drink at least one glass of water every day with a cut lemon from our very own lemon tree in our back yard.
With 'It's All About the Lemon' you have layers and layers of textures and crackle paste, with shades of bright yellow, bronze, gold and dark green popping through the lemon. The top third of the background is dotted (pointilism) with a 'green yellow' shade of acrylic. The bottom third is painted with small stripes with a teal shade of acrylic.
A little about me. My home farm backs on to the Blackwood River and as far as the eye can see, I am surrounded by an ever-changing vista of Australian native fauna and flora and I cannot help but be inspired by the colours I see, the sounds I hear, the feelings of peace, timelessness, wonderment and the realisation that I am never alone.
This original painting will NEVER be sold as a print, so you can enjoy the benefits of knowing that is a one off piece, especially for your home.
Signed on the back.
