The Poppy Flower has long been a symbolism of sleep, peace, and death: Sleep because the opium extracted from them is a sedative, and death because of the common blood-red color of the red poppy in particular. In Greek and Roman myths, poppies were used as offerings to the dead. However the blue poppy is tied to imagination, luxury, and success.
A Nymph is a mythological spirit of nature imagined as a beautiful maiden inhabiting rivers, woods, or other locations.
My art is textured, often featuring musical scores as a base layer, before painstakingly applying a technique known as pointillism. If you would like more photos or information, please contact me here or via my email address below.
