Collection: Mermaids

Years ago I did a mermaid series and have been wanting to revisit them again with a new perspective.  This time taking inspiration again from Japanese culture where in more modern times the koi or long tailed goldfish have become a universal symbol of peace (a yin yang symbol) ☯️ along with my nod to the zen (enso) symbol of hope. 

They all have a base layer of music sheet paper, then I build up layers of shading and pointillism to give each piece texture and depth.
