Commissioned Piece - Angeni

I love working on a commissioned piece of art because of several reasons:-

1) I love the challenge of being thrown out of my comfort zone. For example, I may be asked to paint a painting of a small child with a pretty dress and pigtails. Immediately my brain starts to sweat... why?? because it's making me think of how many different ways I can approach this painting. AND I LOVE THAT. Otherwise I'd probably just continually paint Frida Kahlo and women with Antlers.. haha

2) That whoever is asking for the piece just gets me.. just gets the fact that I don't paint realistially, but that I paint how it feels. I LOVE THAT!

So on that note, I'd like to introduce you to my latest painting titled - Ageni - pronounced as ahn-gene-knee - (*). Angeni's language of origin is Native American and it is used predominantly in English. The meaning of Angeni is 'spirit angel'. Size is 40 x 60 inches.

As always

Thank you for popping by
